Days 7,8 and 9

Day 7 we were in a cute little beach town called Tramore. Here's the bed and breakfast we stayed at. This was one of the best ones with the nicest couple owning it.
We walked down to the beach and it was SUPER windy. We all thought we were gonna blow away.
Dave just being a little leprochaun.
We stopped by an old cemetery in Waterford to see if we could find any of the Eastman/Barber old family names. Their ancestors on the Barber side was O'Dwyer and on the Eastman side was Power. Power is a really popular name in Ireland. So we did see a few Power headstones but they were all newer.
Walking around Waterford.
Another castle. I think by the end we counted that we saw 7 or 8 castles. They were really cool, but after 9 days of seeing them they all started looking the same:)
After about 6 days looking for his hobnobs that he had in England on his mission he finally found some!

These were the Dunmore Caves we went into. It has a really sad history. During the Vikings period when they were at war with eachother all the women and young children came into these cave to hide. The Vikings found them and it was a sight of a major masacre. Other than that it was a really cool cave with all stagtites and magtites (something like that:) that were formed over thousands of years.

Another old castle. I've lost track of which one this is:)

Me and Dre with our matching hats.

So we all know how BIG alcohol is in Ireland. They even have their own spout to help yourself at tables you sit at. Michelle helping herself to some Guiness:)
This is our last day. We stayed in Adare and this is the Bunratty Castle.

Then our last night there we went to this cool Midevil dinner and show in a castle.
As we walked in they gave us all these goblets with some kind of alcohol in them so we all just held ours then sat them down.
The dinner. They didn't give any silverwear to eat with. Here we're drinking our soup out of the bowls.
Then they brought out these NASTY ribs! They were all fat. Dave didn't eat any, I'm at the end with 2 steak knifes trying to cut off some meat.
Then everyone threw their nasty bones in a bowl. Look how appetizing. Dave really wanted to barf.
Then they brought out the actual dinner which was pretty good. Chicken and vegetable and really good potatos. Then the dessert was really good and we actually got spoons for that. It was call the lovers dessert, so after all the other couples romantically fed eachother a bite Dave tried to follow suit but wasn't too romantic about it.

All the doors are really short. They must be a short people.
The last 2 days we actually got some traditional Irish weather. Really cold and rainy. We were so lucky to have sunny weather for 7 days. I'm glad I got to use my umbrella that I brought one day. Look at the cute cottages with thatch roofs and ofcourse the bright colored doors:)

WOW, I did it. That was our Ireland trip! Again an AMAZING once in a lifetime trip. So glad we got to go and got to take Dave's mom. What a great experience and wonderful memories. Deirdre actually made a whole blog of our Ireland trip which goes a lot more into detail about everything we saw and the backgrounds. If you want to learn and see more click here.
