2 Weeks in Cali

Wow, what a wonderful 2 weeks we got to go on Vacation to Carlsbad. Dave got to be up there the first week, then I stayed the second week with the girls and my parents. So being there for 2 weeks I have a million pictures, it was tough just to limit it to these half million pictures.

Painting our toes for the beach, all 30 toes.

Our first day on the beach. The girls loved playing in the sand, but not so much the water. Tyler actually ran out in the water the first day and was playing until a wave crashed her down and that did it. The rest of the trip she freaked out if we made her go close to the water, and as you will see we did MAKE her.

How about a little bit of sand on the face. And splattered with mud. She didn't seem to mind, just kept playing.

Then Tyler just wanted to lay her face in the sand. So then Madix decided to help her and put more sand ontop of her.

So by the end of the day, do we wash them off and make them scream and put them in their seats all wet, or just stick them in all sandy. (we did the latter and their seats and my car is a sandbox)

We loved our morning walks on the boardwalk

Tyler, we have come to find out is quite the runner, she would run the whole way (about a mile)

Our day at Legoland. It was fun but Mads was too small to ride most the rides so she got bored.

So Dave MADE her try boogie boarding and she was quite the trooper. Dave would put her on and push her into the wave, she would ride the wave and everytime as soon as she could get her feet on the ground she would run as fast as she could towards the beach! Dave would run and get her and did it 3 or 4 times.

I tried to get her to play in the water too and she just wanted to run up to the beach.

Grandma and Grandpa Eastman came for a few days to see us too, it was fun to see and hang out with them.

We got LOTS of quality time with Gigi and Papa, (we stayed with them for 2 weeks), I don't think they think my kids are as sweet after 2 weeks with them. But we all loved spending time together.

We went to LaJolla to see the sea lions. There's a sea lion on the rock

Worn out after a long day of playing.

Every year we get pretty cute family pictures on the beach, not so much this year. They would not cooperate.

Collecting seashells.

Madix really liked collecting seaweed instead.

Bye to California. We had a wonderful time and didn't want to come home, but back to reality and all the heaps and heaps of laundry and unpacking.

Sunday Tradition

Fried Egg Sandwiches
I wish I could say our Sunday tradition is something a little more spiritual, but how about a fried egg sandwich anyone?

Tyler knows it's Sunday and that we go to church by when her and dad get to make a fried egg sandwich. Every Sunday morning after bathtime Ty and Dave go down to the kitchen. Ty knows all by herself to open the fridge and get out the mayo, lemon juice, and hot sauce (yes that's what they put on it). She definently has grandpa's blood with her taste.

She LOVES her fried egg sandwich with lots of mayo, lemon juice, hot sauce, and salt and pepper. She eats the whole thing and often asks for another one.

Now it's time to go to church, this is Ty's smile when we try and make her smile.

Tyler's lips amaze me, she looks like she wears lipstick they are so full and red.

Straight home from work he lays down and reads them books, what a good dad.

Tyler impressed me when all by herself she stacked and lined up all her blocks to make a train.
