MuMu Mama Party

Well my good friend Nancy sure does know how to throw a party! Where she gets these crazy ideas I have no idea. But she came up with this wonderful idea. So instead of dressing up cute to go hang out with the girls, we have to wear these ugly mumu's to the party. But I have to admit, it was a dang fun party.
Me and Nance, my mom just happened to have 2 mumu's for me and Tami to wear.

Happy Birthday Stephanie and Nancy!

There was tons and tons of yummy food. Good thing we were wearing mumu's so you couldn't see our bellies. And we worked much of it off singing Karaoke and dancing. I hate to sing, but I love going up with Tami and doing all of our old HS dances.

High School friends, Tami, Dawn, Nancy, Me and Stephanie

Everyone in their "lovely" mumu's

Here are my moms mumu's. When my mom went to get the "bright" green one she said, "this one is actually really cute, I wore it to a wedding when I was your age" What, is she serious? Then people at the party were telling me that it was really cute and I could actually wear it out. For reals people, could I wear this to church??

This is hilarious, Dawn and Dusty, sisters, went out seperately and bought the SAME mumu's without even knowing it. What a pair.

Okay, they even picked 3 mumu contestants and had a "Miss MU MU" pageant. And yes, I was so lucky to be selected. We had to do a talent and answer questions on the spot. I could never be a real miss america, luckily I had my side-kick Tami to perform with me.

So Lindsey won and me and Dawn got runner ups. Oh well.

Thanks for the great party Nancy and Stephanie. Like I said Nance, you better be coming back to plan next years party, I'll be looking forward to it.

MOMS

My friend just emailed me this and it made me cry. So I have to send this wonderful reminder on to all other moms.

A friend in the Ward recently buried her baby that was Sophie's age (around 3). Then I got this from my sister. I am thankful for Heavenly Father's gentle reminders to me. I just wanted all my mom's out there to remember what a blessing their kids are and to take a special moment with them...

Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry, and pick you up and take you to the park to play.

Just for this morning, I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together.

Just for this afternoon, I will unplug the telephone and keep the computer off, and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles.

Just for this afternoon, I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream and whine for the ice cream truck and I will buy you one if he comes by.

Just for this afternoon, I won't worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second guess every decision I have made where you are concerned.

Just for this afternoon, I will let you help me bake cookies, and I won't stand over you trying to fix them.

Just for this afternoon, I will take us to McDonald's and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can have both toys.

Just for this evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you.

Just for this evening, I will let you splash in the tub and not get angry.

Just for this evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars.

Just for this evening, I will snuggle beside you for hours, and miss my favorite TV shows.

Just for this evening when I run my finger through your hair as you pray, I will simply be grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever given.

I will think about the mothers And fathers who are searching for their missing children, the mothers and fathers who are visiting their children's graves instead of their bedrooms, and mothers and fathers who are in hospital rooms watching their children suffer senselessly, and screaming inside that they can't handle it anymore. And when I kiss you good night I will hold you a little tighter, a little longer. It is then, that I will thank God for you, and ask Him for nothing, except one more day.............

I'm SO thankful for my 2 precious girls and hope I can remember all these little things more often

This and That of the last week

Okay no more pictures from Christmas, time to move on with life and we've had a couple milestones in the last week.
Madix Turned 18 Months!

Yay, you know what that means, she got to go into nursery on Sunday. She did so good. I think she was so used to seeing us take Ty in and all the fun stuff, then we would take her and leave. She was just so happy she got to stay this time and sit at the table with all the big kids to play playdough. I don't think she noticed for a second that we were gone. (where Tyler cried for a month). Tyler was so cute, we told her to watch after Madix, and I was watching them through the window and Tyler was telling Madix to "not eat the playdough" and she watched Madix the whole time. What a good big sister. So anyways it was the 1st time in 3 years we were able to go to our other classes with no baby. It felt weird, but SO nice.

Okay 18 months, she's 99% for her height and 97% for her weight. She's starting to talk tons but she seems to say the last syllable twice for words. Like she calls Kacey "Sisi", Elmo "Momo", and Meeka "Kaka". She always yells "no, Kaka". And there are a lot of word she says that I have no idea what she's saying, which is sad, cause she's finally trying to communicate and I don't know what she's saying.

She is still my whiney, needy one though. Always wants me to hold her. But she's starting to be a little more independant with playing and she can finally run (it's so cute)(she's had a problem with her right foot turning in and falling tons) Despite being so needy we love having her in our family and she's heaps and heaps of fun.
Prayers

Whenever I say "it's time to say prayers" they both run into Madix's room, kneel, and fold their arms. Tyler is getting so good at saying prayers. Dave has tought her to always say: "and bless me to not date until I'm sixteen, and bless me to get married in the temple". Can never start too early.
Tylers First Bike

Tyler got this bike for Christmas and Dave went outside with her on Sunday to try and teach her and was having no luck. She could not get the circular motion down. So he was getting frustrated saying "how do you teach a kid to ride a bike" and our nice neighbor who was cleaning out her car, probably laughing at Dave, came to the rescue. She brought over a big wheel that was way easier to do. Tyler did it right away, so we're gonna practice on that for awhile before we try the bike again.

Tylers First Dance Class

Yay, Tyler started dance class. My mom bought a few of these cute skirts when she was born and she can finally wear them. She was so excited to go to dance class and did pretty good. She was really awkward at first not knowing how to turn her feet out and do a plia (bend her knees), she couldn't even sit indian styl. She is so used to sitting on her bumb with her knees in and feet out (see prayer picture). So she finally started getting the hang of things and loves it. It's so cute!

Her little dance move

Madix wanted to put on a tutu too too:)

I told her to give me a nice pose, not bad.

I LOVE her smile with her bigs lips and crooked teeth.

Getting ready to leave, she has to have her froggy and with her froggy her fingers go in her mouth. (she is still only 2, even though she looks 4)

In the class, yes I think she is the tallest even though she's the youngest at 2, the girls next to her are almost 4! (she will be 3 next month)

I can't believe my baby is old enough to go to dance class, it's the begining of the end for just me and Ty. I'm so proud of her, she's such a sweet, good little girl.

Christmas Vacation (part 2)

Here's some more pictures of our wonderful Christmas activities from Dre's camera that I just got. Thanks Dre.

My neice Maile got up and sang the most beautiful little lullaby (next picture), which I think gave Ty courage to stand up and sing rudolph. I just couldn't believe she got up in front of everyone and sang in a microphone.

Everyone opened up pj's on Christmas Eve, and Dave's wonderful bro Stace had to get Dave these.

Dave's cute twin sisters and me in my new socks

Dave and his bro Stacey, they make quite a pair when they're together

This is the house we stayed in, look at that snow

It did make for GREAT snowboarding, except poor Dierdre broke her arm in the afternoon. She took lessons in the morning and was doing awesome until she cought a stupid front edge and snapped her wrist

I was so worried for her and how she would take care of her baby

SPECIAL EVENTS

On Tuesday (before she broke her arm luckily) Dave's sister Dierdre and her husband Andrew had their beautiful baby Ashton sealed to them in Salt Lake Temple. They adopted Ashton back in March. It was so special to see Ashton sealed to his parents. He is the sweetest, most smiley baby I've ever seen. He had the biggest smile for everyone in the temple right after his sealing.

I love him and am so glad he is part of our family. I'm excited for Ty and Mads to have Ashton to play with

Along with everything else this week, Dave's other sister Amanda got married

Mike and Amanda, we love Mike and am so glad for him to join the Eastmans too
