Ty's First Day of Kindergarten!!

1st Day of Kindergarten, 1st Day in a Big school (K-8th), 1st Day with LOTS of kids everywhere that she doesn't know. 1st Day with Mrs. Bradley at The Odyssey Preparatory Academy, 1st Day wearing a uniform. 1st Day out in the "real world" no longer under my wing where she will have so many influence (good and bad) thrown at her- ahhhhh! I just hope and pray we've tought her well thus far and that home will always be her haven.
She's just doing half day Kinder, so she goes from 12-4pm. She was so excited all morning and couldn't wait!

It's not the cutest uniform but she loves it:)
So glad Dave was able to come home and go with us to take her to her first day of school. What a good dad!

Here we are walking up to her school. We were ALL a little nervous.

In the classroom waiting for her teacher. Other kids sat down and started playing with toys but she did not want to leave our side.
Then her friends from our ward got there, Keira and Keaton and she started to feel less nervous and more excited.
In her classroom doing activities. She LOVED it. We lingered for a bit, didn't know when we should leave her. But she was so happy and had no problem with us leaving, which made it WAY easier for me:)
I know she's gonna do great and is such a strong good girl. My baby is off to kindergarten:( But also so happy, no more saying how bored she is at home all afternoon:)
This is her teacher Mrs. Bradley

Her Teacher sent us home with this poem she wrote:
I gave you a little wink and smile
As you entered my room today.
For I know how hard it is to leave
And know your child must stay.
You have been with them for five years now
And have been a loving guide,
But now, alas, the time has come
To leave them by my side.
Just know that as you drive away
And tears down your cheekds may flow,
I will love them as I would my own
And I will help them learn and grow.
For as a parent, I too know
How quickly time does pass.
And that one day soon it will be my turn
To take my child to his class.
So please put your mind to ease,
And cry those tears no more.
For I will love them and take them in
When you leave them at my door.
Love,
Mrs. Bradley

Madix's 1st Day of Preschool for 2011 School Year

Madix did preschool last year but it was with our little mother's group that taught and all kids she knew. So today was her first day in "real" preschool with "real" teachers and a bunch of kids she didn't know. She has been super excited to go, but when we got there and it was time for me to say goodbye she did not want me to leave. I thought she was gonna start crying, but she held it together and was very brave. Good job Mads!
Here are some pics. I love the shirt she picked out at Target and was so excited to wear on her first day of school.

Dave and his Madi Kai before he left for work.
Tayte really wanted to sit in on pictures

Me and my Mads

Again, Tayte had to run into the picture and sit on my lap and give her cheesy smile. What a goof.
Her sisters were excited for Madix. Ty doesn't start till next week.
We are so lucky to have this great preschool 4 houses down from us on our street! It's run by 2 young moms who used to teach in public school but want to start families and be home more. It's Greatleaps Preschool and they do an awesome job. So it's so nice just to let the girls ride their scooter or bike to preschool, while I walk behind them.
Sitting at her table with he new waterbottle.
Back at home showing me her folder and what she did. She had a great day and loved it. We love you Madi Kai and are so proud of you!

Schaub Family Campout 2011

This is such a fun tradition/reunion that the Schaub family has been doing ever since I was a little kid- CAMPING. ALL the Schaubs (I think there was about 85 people this year) we get together and eat yummy meals that each family takes a turn preparing for everyone. Play LOTS of cards and games (ooga booga, toilet paper game, waterballoon volleyball), craft projects and just enjoy being in the nice cool weather and beautiful forest with great company!
Here is the group of us that was there when the picture was taken. People came and went as they could so some are not in the picture (such as Dave and Kyle).

It's a cool camp site with a huge ramada area in the middle with a private road that circles it that the kids can ride bikes and such around all day (and night, and 5am in the morning:)

Tyler with her cousins Tyson and Becker

Tayte didn't know what to think and would throw a fit if ever I walked away from her or if anyone else tried to hold her. (such a pain) The last day she did start to warm up and venture out a little.

Me and my sistas.

Gigi and Ty

They made these cool marshmellow guns that they had a blast shootin marshmellows at people.
Sleeping in our tent. So....it poured down rain that afternoon and I guess there was a little hole at the bottom of our tent. Madix woke up in the middle of the night crying and totally wet! She was sleeping in a puddle in the freezing cold!! POOR thing! So I changed her and put her in my bed with me. And conveniently Dave had to work the first night (he hates camping) and couldn't come up till Sat. morning so I was in the tent with my 3 girls by myself!

My parents got a camper which was very nice to have. My cousin Megan made these cool "Super Schaub" shirts for everyone.
And on the back has the every individuals name from my grandparents down. (can you find me? i'm in read next to Dave written in white)

One of the highlights of the trip- a horny toad. Tyler LOVED playing with it!

Dave and my dad took Ty, Mads and Dallin fishing.
Good job Grandpa catching the fish! I think he cought about 5.

Ofcourse Tyler was all about the fish.

It would thunder and lightning and POOR rain every afternoon for about an hour. We kept thinking our tent was gonna float away.

In front of our tent.
Making smores.
The one time Tayte left my side. She let Tyler pull her around in the wagon for a long time. So cute!
And we even got to go rompin on the quad.
It was a great camping trip! The girls LOVED it and keep wanting to go back.
