Our Winter Days

I just heard on the news this morning how it's been a really bad winter around the country and so many states just keep getting more and more snow.
And here we Arizonans are enjoying beautiful 70 degree weather. I don't mind the 115degree summers to have these beautiful winters.
Every afternoon after naps we all head outside for our daily walk to the mail, around the block or to the park.

Madix insisted on wearing a tank top this morning. I kept telling her "no it's winter", then finally gave in realizing it would be around 75 degrees.

Tayte's saying "awwww what a beautiful day!"

Here's to our amazing Arizona winter days!

Tayte- 8 Months Old

Wow, my baby is already 8 months old. What she's doing at 8 mo's....
-She finally has the rolling thing down and rolls all over. Not even close to crawling though.
-She's love to bable, says "ba ba" and "da da" (Dave thinks she's saying da da for him, but really lets face it's just easier for most babies to say da da before ma ma) And she likes to "spit" with her tongue sticking out. Especially when she gets mad she does that.
-She loves to give "5". If you hold your hand out she slaps it really hard over and over and she loves to bang on her highchair.
-She started to dance this month! SO CUTE! Mostly just to the Elmo song, you know "la la, la la, Elmo's world". She wiggles her body and turns her head.
-She's down to 2 naps a day 9:30-11am and 1:30-3:30 or 4pm then down for the night at 7pm- 7am.
-She can pick up her own snacks and put them in her mouth. Well maybe 25% end up in her mouth.
-She has 6 teeth so can chew food pretty good. So starting to experiment with crackers and pasta and some other table foods. Feeding her is a chore though. She clinches down on her spoon so hard, bites it and won't let me pull it out of her mouth. Every bite we go through this.

She loves bathtime. She usually takes them in the big bath but this is when we were out of town.

First time with a lime:)

So funny!

Look at that sour face!

I didn't put her down with her hood on but this is how she ended up:)

And her sisters still adore her and love to play with her!

Happy 8 months baby!! You're as cute as can be!!

I Love That Toothless Smile

I was gone ALL day on Sat. I had a catering job then it was girls night out to Sushi. So Daddy's day with the girls. I forgot something and came home unexpectedly to music BLASTING and Dave caring Madix around dancing:) Mom was gone so they decided to party! Anyways I came home later to Ty giving me the biggest smile and her top tooth gone! It was a little loose and I guess she bit into an apple and made it a little more loose so Dave decided to pull it. Yep, this is her 3rd tooth lost before she has even turned 5! Good thing Dave remembered to be the tooth fairy who was extra generous and left her $5. He said this was a big front tooth that deserved more money.

We went to the store today so she could buy something with her $5. This is what she got.

Mads got to pick a $1 toy.

So Impressed

I'm so impressed with Madix. She is so opposite Tyler and they both have their different strengths and weaknesses. Madix is very stubborn, determined and strong minded. Which can work for her good and bad. In this case what a strength it's been. If anyone's tried to break a habbit of finger sucking they know how hard it is. Any habbit you've had for over 3 yrs is extremely hard to break. With Ty we tried about when she was 3 1/2 also and we tried EVERYTHING. If you remember this (taking away her frog) and even offering Disneyland didn't do it. It's not like just taking a binky away, but we resorted to the closest thing by taking the use of her fingers away so she COULDN'T suck them.

Yep, we taped them for about 2 weeks and she would cry and cry, it was so sad, but it was for her good and it worked.
So anyways Madix sucked her fingers just like Ty. She sucked her pointer finger with her thumb. I thought for sure we would have to come down to taping her fingers also.

But man, this girl just set her mind on not sucking her fingers. She knew she didn't want them taped. And she just quit all on her own! So impressive! It took about a week of reminding her, and everytime I caught her she wouldn't fight me with it she just took her fingers out of her mouth.

I'm so proud of you Mads for stopping sucking your fingers all by yourself! I know with such determination and discipline you can accomplish anything you want in life!

14 Years Now

About 14 years is how long we've been snowboarding together.
These first few pics are when we were dating, I think around 1998.

We went to Brianhead a couple weeks ago when we were in St. George for Christmas. This is the first time we've ever been to this resort. It was a perfect day. Had just snowed the day before and was nice and sunny. It's crazy to think we've been doing this together for about 14 years. What a fun hobby we share and can enjoy with eachother.

We're getting older but still going strong! He actually does huge jumps, just didn't get a good picture of it.

Inside for lunch eating some yummy chili fries and warming up.

One of our good friends Jason from our ward was in St. George for Christmas too and came with us boarding.

Last Day of 2010

We have had an absolutely fantastic year of 2010 (as my 2010 blog posts show) But the best thing about 2010... Our beautiful baby Tayte was born!! She has been so much fun and such a delight. I can't even imagine our family without her.
I'm excited for another wonderful year with my amazing husband and beautiful 3 girls. I have to say I'm a bit anxious and am not sure I want this year to happen. Although I am ready to not have 3 at home I am not ready for Ty to start school this year. AHHHHHH, my first baby's gonna be going to all day kindergarten. So I have 7 months to make the best of having her home with me all day (which is one of my goals).
This is how we spent the last day of 2010

All ready to go bowling

We met up with my mom who has my sister Melanies kids for the week. Melanie's boys, Becker, Tyson, Screwzie (Hudson) and Dallin

I gave Dave a run for his money the first game, he was sweating. Then he smoked everyone the second game.

Ty was a great bowler, she one the first game against all the little kids

Then that night we had some friends over to hang out.

SPARKLERS!!

Ty was really nervous to hold it:)

It was a great day to end a great year!

AND I have to mention a big milestone for Tayters...

She finally decided she wants to roll! Yep, at 7 1/2 months she finally is rolling!

I'm a little nervous, cause now this means the next step is crawling. I don't know if I'm ready for that yet. I liked her just sitting in one place playing with her toys:) But learining new things is always fun and exciting. I guess I need to think about baby proofing my house again.
